A dental implant acts as a replacement for the root of a lost tooth. It’s placed in the jawbone or maxilla and, after a healing period of 2 to 4 months, serves as the foundation for a dental implant restoration. The implant itself is an artificial tooth root.
A complete dental implant restoration consists of the implant (the artificial root), a prosthetic tooth crown aesthetically identical to a natural tooth, and an abutment connecting these two components.
Dental implants are suitable for patients who have partially or fully lost their natural teeth and require the replacement of a damaged tooth. Implant-based reconstructions can replace individual teeth, groups of teeth, or all teeth in an arch.
Implants are not recommended for children in the developmental stage (18-20 years old).
For patients with systemic diseases, the decision for implant treatment is made on a case-by-case basis, often after consultation with other medical specialists.
The implant placement procedure only requires local anaesthesia and is completely painless. If a tooth is extracted and an implant is placed immediately afterwards, the main discomfort stems from the extraction rather than the implantation. Any discomfort following the implant procedure typically subsides by the next day.
The cost of placing the implant in the bone is 2800 PLN.
After the osteointegration period, which is the fusion of the implant with the bone and takes 10-12 weeks, the dentist can proceed to design and fit the crown on the implant.
The cost of the crown placed on the implant is 2600 PLN or 2800 PLN, depending on the type of abutment used.
In summary, the total cost for a dental implant restoration is 5400 – 5600 PLN.
Prices may vary in individual cases due to additional bone reconstruction needs, the use of custom-designed abutments, or special discounts for patients receiving multiple implants.
